I was watching an interesting series of videos on YouTube the other day that really got my wheels spinning about where I stand as somebody that creates work with a camera. The series was titled "Is Photography Over?", and while a little bit lengthy, had a lot of good, thought-provoking discussion from museum curators to the artists themselves. Throughout the videos, a topic that cropped up now and again was the role of the photographer vs. the role of the artist. Does one that makes photographs call him/herself a photographer or an artist?
